Frequently Asked Questions

Our goal is to make printing your work easy. We are happy to help you with any questions along the way, or make any professional recommendations where you aren’t sure what to do.

I’m having trouble ordering my print(s) what are the steps I need to take?

  1. Go to the ‘order prints’ page and select either standard or premium paper

  2. Select your image size, paper type, border and crop options

  3. Click ‘add to cart’

  4. In the pop-up dialogue box click ‘upload image file’ upload your image, and close the Dropbox window, then press ‘add to cart’

  5. Press on cart icon (top right on screen) and proceed to checkout

Note: if you are ordering multiple sizes, please include each image’s size in the file name (ex. “YourImageTitle-8x10"). If there are any formatting questions, we will reach out to you shortly after you place your order.

My print was damaged in the mail, what should I do?

If your print was damaged in the shipping process, please send an image of the damage, and your shipping address to info@positiveprintlab.com within 3 days of delivery. We will reprint and reship free of charge if your damage claim is accepted.

What does full bleed mean?

Full bleed is when a print has no borders. The image “bleeds” over the edge of the paper.

Why do we need to crop my image to have equal borders?

The majority of modern cameras shoot in a 2:3 format. Therefore, if you select a print size with a ratio that differs from your uploaded image and you would like equal borders, the image needs cropping.

What are the preset size options based on?

Preset size options are based on traditional, prebuilt frame sizes that are widely available. You can purchase and build your own frames through a variety of sources such as americanframe.com

What kind of paper are standard prints printed on?

Standard prints are printed on archival, acid free papers, manufactured by Canon.

Do you offer sizes smaller than 8x10?

Yes, we offer sizes smaller than 8x10, but please note that anything under 8x10 in size will cost the same amount as an 8x10 on whichever paper you have selected.

Can I print at ANY size?

Yes, you can place an order for any sizes not listed (up to 44” on the short side, by any length), via the ‘Contact’ button at the top of our website. Please specify your print size, paper type, border/full bleed specs, and quantity for each image you you would like to print, along with their corresponding file names. We will respond to your email with an invoice, and an upload link to submit your image(s).

Can I place a HUGE order?

Yes, we welcome orders of any size. If you are not ordering through the website, you will be invoiced directly via email. A deposit of 50% of your job cost will be required to begin printing, or lock in production for a certain time frame.

Can I return my order?
